Advantages of compressed logs: efficiency, ecology, and zero waste at Brut de Table

We recently invested in a chip press at Brut de Table, and it has completely changed our waste management. Every year, we had to get rid of more than 100 m³ of chips and sawdust. Now, we turn this waste into compressed logs, and not only does this reduce our ecological footprint, but it also adds value to what was once lost by turning it into efficient fuel. A real plus for our eco-friendly approach!

Efficient compressed logs for everyday use

What I love about our compressed logs is that they burn much hotter than traditional logs. It takes 3 to 4 of them to properly fuel the stove and maintain intense heat. If you have a dual-combustion system, the efficiency is even more impressive: the heat is stronger and rises faster. It is truly ideal for quickly warming up the house during cold winter days.

Simplified lighting

Contrary to popular belief, lighting these logs is super easy. With a simple firestarter, you're good to go. And above all, there are no moisture issues like with traditional wood stored outdoors. Our compressed logs stay nice and dry, and that makes all the difference for quick and hassle-free lighting.

Sheltered storage

In terms of storage, it is essential to keep them sheltered to prevent them from deteriorating. As they are very sensitive to moisture, a dry place is imperative to ensure their performance. But the advantage is that they take up much less space than traditional wood, which is a real plus if space is limited.

In conclusion

These compressed logs are a real success for us. We reduce our waste while creating a clean, high-performance fuel. It is eco-friendly, practical, and economical in the long run. For those who are hesitant, I recommend you give it a try—you might just never go back to traditional logs!

Tip: Always store the logs indoors, away from moisture, to preserve their efficiency.
